Yes, I'm the owner of this beautifull watch.I have no idea of the meaning of the Kanji characters on it. They are not the typical Japanese characters for one, two, three... The only characters I've been able to identify are: 日曜日 meaning Sunday.
After years abandoned in a box, the recent tragedy, has brought my old Japanese watch back to my hands. Today I tried to replace it's wasted battery by a new one. It didn't work. The clock that measures time, the same time that makes us old, the same time that clocks towars our end.

I have this same watch. The characters are the Chinese zodiac. Starting with 12 o'clock:
Rat
Ox
Tiger
Rabbit
Dragon
Snake
Horse
Ram
Monkey
Rooster
Dog
Pig
I have the same watch.The Japanese character is twelve zodiacal signs.子(ne) the Rat, 丑(ushi) the Ox, 寅(tora) the Tiger, 卯(u) the Rabbit, 辰(tatsu) the Dragon, 巳(mi) the Serpent, 午(uma) the Horse, 未(hitsuji) the Sheep, 申(saru) the Monkey, 酉(tori) the Rooster, 戊(inu) the Dog, 亥(i) the Boar.
Similarly, it stops. The battery is changed sooner or later. It is glad when moving.
The Kanji on the face are the Chinese zodiac. the days of the wee are the Kanji in the window at 6 o'clock.
I have this same watch too. I love it. I've had it since 1991. I wear it every day. Mine is 50581X, what's your number?
