La Santa Cova

The monastery at the end of the image is located where, in the 9th Century, it was found a wood sculpture with Mary and her son Jesus Christ. This is in the holy mountain of Montserrat. According to the legend the bishop of Manresa tried to move the virgin from the cave where it was found. When they tried to move her, the weight of the virgin was so strong that they decided that the virgin didn't want to leave the mountain of Montserrat so they decided to build a monastery there.
